What is in the box
Everything below ships with every ES-9 Aurora, in a 2.1 kg carton that fits a standard parcel locker.
The headphones
ES-9 Aurora in your chosen finish, with the velour pads already fitted and the alternate pads bagged separately.
Cable and adapter
Your chosen cable, terminated 3.5 mm, plus a machined 6.35 mm adapter. Both ends are user-replaceable.
Felt case
A 5 mm wool-felt case cut in Luleå, sized for the pair folded flat with the cable coiled inside it.
The measurement card
An A5 card with your pair's own sweep, the serial, the date and the initials of whoever signed it off.
An 86 mm diaphragm, tensioned by hand twice.
A planar diaphragm is a sheet two microns thick stretched across a magnet array. Get the tension wrong by a few percent and the bass goes soft. We tension it, let it settle overnight, and tension it again in the morning — which is most of why a pair takes nine days.

Thirty days on an unworn pair, boxed, with the card. We refund the item and the outbound delivery; the return label is €9 unless it arrived faulty.
Fits roughly a 52 – 62 cm head. If your ear is longer than 68 mm, say so and we fit the deeper pad at no charge before it ships.
At 28 Ω, yes — a laptop or a phone reaches a loud, clean level. The Vellum Amp adds headroom rather than volume, and is a want, not a need.
